1. Pay attention to God’s Word with a contrite heart.
You will do well to pay attention to it [the prophetic word], as to a lamp shining in a dismal place. 2 Peter 1:19 A broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. Psalm 51:17
2. Accept God’s Word with a courageous heart.
Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you. . . Colossians 3:16
He meditates on it [God’s Word] day and night. . . Psalm 1:2
3. Apply God’s Word with a committed heart.
Be doers of the Word and not hearers only. . . James 1:22
Teach me your way, O LORD, and I will walk in your truth; give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name. Psalm 86:11
