The Month of Love
We often associate February having Valentine’s Day with the month of love. As followers of Jesus, that is exactly what others should associate with our lives: LOVE. Consider some of the things that Scripture teaches us about our lives being lives of love:

· You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:43-44
· Love the Lord you God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. . . Love your neighbor as yourself. Mark 12:30-31
· I give you a new commandment: love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35
· Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. Romans 13:8
· If I “do not have love, I am nothing.” Romans 13:2
· Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John 4:7

Well, I will stop there. It seems obvious that above all, Christians should be people of love. The mark of a Christian is not a Christian T-shirt, a cross necklace, or a fish on his or her car (those these things aren’t bad). The mark of a Christian is love. Year around and especially during this “month of love”, let’s be the people we are. . . People of Love!

The Year of the Harvest
The first two Sundays of this year I challenged us to do all we can, seeking God that this may truly be the year of a spiritual harvest in our church and community. For this to happen, first and foremost we must pray. Pray that believers would seek God and that there would be revival in our own hearts. Pray that non-christians would see their need for Jesus and come to faith in Him. Pray that God’s spirit would move and that individuals would be bold and willing to respond during our invitation times. Let us expect God to do great things! I have met with three adults in the past couple of weeks who want to publicly announce their new allegiance to Christ through baptism. Continue to pray!
