CrossWords 6 – The Word of Triumph

John 19:30

I.                    The Savior accomplished all that He came to earth to do.

I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished! Luke 12:50

And taking the twelve, he said to them, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written about the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished. Luke 18:31

For I tell you that this Scripture must be fulfilled in me: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors.’ For what is written about me has its fulfillment.” Luke 22:37

And when they had carried out all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb. Acts 13:29

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7

 

II.                  Satan has been defeated.

And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. Colossians 2:15

III.                The debt of sin has been paid in full.

And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. Col. 2:13–14

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24

The collectors of the two-drachma tax went up to Peter and said, “Does your teacher not pay the tax?” Mat. 17:24

 

IV.               Salvation has been made available to everyone who will believe upon Jesus.

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10

Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost. 1 Timothy 1:15

You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. 1 John 3:5
