Genesis 1:1 – 2:3
I. The Father created the universe in concert with the Son and the Spirit.
For by him [Jesus] all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16
God has “spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.” Hebrews 1:2
II. Our Great God created everything out of nothing.
By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. Hebrews 11:3
III. Our Great God cares about that which He has created.
And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:17
He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, Hebrews 1:3
IV. Our Great God who created everything can do anything.
‘Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you. Jeremiah 32:17
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. Isaiah 40:28
V. Our Great God who created everything can be trusted.
Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good. 1 Peter 4:19
VI. Our Great God who created everything is worthy of worship.
“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” Revelation 4:11
For thus says the Lord, who created the heavens (he is God!), who formed the earth and made it (he established it; he did not create it empty, he formed it to be inhabited!): “I am the Lord, and there is no other. Isaiah 45:18
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made… Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things… They exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. Romans 1:20, 22, 25
VII. Our Great God will recreate the universe in perfection.
But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. 2 Peter 3:13
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. Isaiah 65:17
In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? John 14:2
